I am your Iowa Auctioneer, selling antiques, collectibles, estates, liquidation sales. I am a full service auctioneer!

Greg Christy Auctioneer and Auction Service

Welcome to Greg Christy Auctions! I am a full service auctioneer based in Newton, Iowa. I work throughout central Iowa. I work primarily with estate sales, antiques, pre -1970′s collectibles, real estate, machinery, guns, autos and general item sales. Our staff at Greg Christy Auctions is very knowledgeable in the wide-ranging auction field. I also act as a conduit to sell your item for you. I will buy estates, antiques and collectibles. Iowa is still one of the best places in the U.S. to find good quality investment grade antiques and collectibles and I’m looking for them all of the time. I will be having good quality antique/primitives consignment auctions on a regular basis. This is my business and I aim to be here for a while, so I offer you the seller, a professionally conducted auction for your items. I am a graduate of the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa and proud member of the National Auctioneers Association and also the Iowa Auctioneers Association. This allows me to stay current with all the educational resources available through these organizations and provides me access to the biggest network in the auctioneering field. In today’s environment the seller needs every advantage available to them to move their item and receiving fair or better than market value. I have the ability and resources to gain the exposure your item or real estate property needs to move on. I offer an appraisal service for folks seeking information on their valuable items or other items of your interest.
I am involved in all aspects of the business from auction planning, to set up, bid calling the auction & follow-up with the client when the auction is complete.
Most families or businesses come to me in a time of transition. I enjoy being able to help them through the process of liquidating their assets and maximizing their profits. I understand that often it is not a comfortable period for a grieving family or a business in in need of help. Folks, we are all in this lifetime together and I think it best we treat each other accordingly. We are sharing time and space. How do you want to do it? I choose moving about in a peaceful, respectful and mutually agreeable manner. It's my philosophy and I try my best to stick to it.
For the bidder, our staff works extremely hard to provide an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to a fast paced efficient auction. We always try to look over any item that comes into one of our auctions to insure accuracy of the description and possibly, at what grade level it is. It is up to the new owner to have had prior inspection of the item  and all “sells as is”, as the hammer falls.  After all, it is all about the end customer, whether they be a collector or dealer. You may get to see Pipi at an auction! That's worth the trip by itself! ;)

Rex & Evelyn Pitman Estate At Auction Antique Murphy's Bed At An Iowa Auction! Red Wing, Hull, Hall, McCoy, Haviland, Noritake, Shawnee, and so much more!

Rex & Evelyn Pitman Estate On The Farm Since 1947. Montezuma, IA. It's called a Murphy's bed, however the factory proper nomenclature is Victrola Bed # 616, patented 1903. It's a true fold-out! Beautiful as it is rare! In very good condition. There isn't a mattress and you probably wouldn't want one that old. This antique still has years of service left in it. All you would need is a good mattress that will fold well. With the mattress technology available today, this could be a very comfortable bed. It would be perfect for a B&B, as an extra bed. The home has been in the family since 1947. Dad was a WWII vet and was stationed in occupied Japan. While there, he was able to bring his wife over to Japan to be with him. She liked to shop! I have not seen so much occupied Japan items in one place in my entire life! Not only was Mrs. Pitman a good shopper, she had very good taste in what she bought. The family told me after coming back to Iowa and their farm, she continued going to auctions and garage sales for decades. It’s all there! McCoy, Hull, Shawnee, Haviland, Hall, Western, Noritake, Good Napcoware, Copper boiler, Red Wing. Several pieces of old dairy equipment, stall stanchions, separator, milk cans. The two shotguns will be a real find for the antique gun collectors! There is the double-barreled J. Stevens A&T Co. Hammered 12ga. and the Riverside Arms 12 ga. pump. I'll keep adding pictures as I get them. As always, take a moment and click over to my main website, so you can pop me in your favorites! You will find it right here!

Autographed Photos Of Micky Mantle, Ali and many others at auction!

I’m adding a lot of Autographed sports pictures! The Mick, Ali, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio and others. Check out the pics! I did speak with Eric at CSC Collectibles about the authenticty of the signatures. It’s a concern for anyone collectiong this type of collectible and I respect that. No one wants junk ink! I won’t knowingly sell fakes. I’ve been assured that all of these have not a only a COA, but will stand up in any court of law in the U.S.A., there you go, I’ve done all I can. Here is the link to their site. Compare prices. Ask questions of CSC. I bet you get them cheaper here than on their website! I did some homework, you can to. Here is my website for more info!

Peter Max Paper Airplane Book NM, Vintage Hotel Colfax, Iowa Architectural Drawings, Hotel Colfax Souvenir Plate Made In Germany, Baby Boomer Playskool Toy Computer from the 70's!,Also another biggie! One of the best groupings of Barbies in the region! All at auction prices!

We keep finding more and more unique and rare items in this house! Mr. Collister was a true adventurer when it came to his collectibles! If he had a new interest, he fed and fed it well! I wish I could have known him better. His daughters honor him with all of the hard work they've put into this sale. They are often just as surprised as I am, when they discover a new treasure. That Peter Max Paper Airplane book is the real deal! It's in VG++ condition with all of the planes still attached in the book and the spine is tight! That 1950's Formica topped, chrome legged table is in near perfect condition! It has the leaf and the mechanism to expand is as smooth working as it was the day it was made. Wanna go retro? One of the best groupings of Barbie Toys in this region! Not a collection per se, rather three young girls with very kind and generous parents. Most of the toys are in very good condition, being lightly played with. The Dream House has most if most all of the little pieces. There is a closet for Ken! Yes ladies, I know now, you already knew there was a closet for Ken. My dolls had footlockers, guns and scars on their faces. The other Colfax collectibles can be found here!

I'm announcing the Rex & Evelyn Pitman Estate Near Montezuma, IA! WWI Occupied Japan, Shawnee, McCoy, Haviland, Red Wing, Vintage Toys, Farm Primitives, Furniture, Aladdin Lamp, Seth Thomas and so much more!

I’ve just received notice that I will handle the Pitman estate near Montezuma this summer or early fall! Folks, this is another unique sale! McCoy, Hull, Shawnee, Haviland, Hall, Western, Red Wing. Some of Dad’s WWII stuff, farm primitives and so much more. I was able to walk through with Sandy, Scott and Joe (Bob is out west) and got just a glimpse of what is there. Every time we would go into another room, we would find something they had forgotten about years ago or it was a new find for them. These are the kind of sales that you won’t want to miss! Really nice folks here. Their Mom just passed on last February. It was good to hear them reminisce about their folks while we looked over the contents of their childhood home. I am so glad I’m doing what I do now. This kind of stuff enriches my life and feeds the soul. As I mentioned, they have been in this home since 1947.  It’s all there, plus a lot of the toys the kids had. This is going to be an incredible sale! I'll be posting pictures and info soon, right here! Stay tuned, same Bat time, same Bat channel!
